Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Inventory Lead to oversee daily inventory operations in our Charlotte, NC warehouse facility. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, leading cycle count activities, supporting warehouse staff, and operating forklifts as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong inventory control experience, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced 3PL or distribution environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily inventory control activities, including cycle counts and audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and location issues.
- Ensure inventory accuracy within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Train and support inventory clerks and warehouse associates on inventory procedures.
- Operate forklifts including reach truck, sit-down, and stand-up equipment as needed.
- Assist with product moves, replenishment, put-away, and material handling tasks.
- Monitor inventory transactions and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Work closely with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Support physical inventory counts and customer inventory reporting.
- Enforce warehouse safety standards and OSHA compliance.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2–4 years of inventory control experience in a warehouse or 3PL environment.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Forklift operating experience required; certification preferred.
- Strong experience with WMS systems, RF scanners, and inventory reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions.
