Inventory Management Specialist (NX)

Duties

Help include but are not limited to:

  • Lifecycle Management: Responsible for the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets; conducts short, mid and long-term advanced planning; analyzes data; supports customers and acquisition personnel in developing requirements, utilizing mandatory sources and standardization sources; and corresponds with procurement officials and other stakeholders to resolve issues

  • Inventory Management and Control: Responsible for the management and control of NX equipment assets; serves as the point of contact for the coordination of material support and resolution of logistic problems; conducts forecasting and quantitative analysis; conducts spot checks; and complies with special requirements for firearms, ammunition and sensitive equipment

Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Physical Requirements: Involve a mix of working in an office environment to working in a warehouse to assist in processing new equipment receipts, carrying light objects such as notebooks, and data processing reports. A great amount of time walking and climbing stairs is required to conduct on-site inventories of equipment. Lifting of up to 40 pounds is required when receiving new equipment at the facility and preparing for the sale of excess property. Work conditions are often indoors, but could occasionally be dirty, hot, humid or unusually cold when involved in property inventories, disposal of equipment, and transferring of equipment between serviced locations and recycling centers. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm. Telework: Ad Hoc at the discretion of the Service or the VISN. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
