Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Inventory Optimization Coordinator for a supervisor position in Durham, North Carolina. This role involves leading a team in managing and optimizing inventory processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy across the organization.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly counts are completed accurately.
Review, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
Provide support to the Customer Service, Purchasing, and Accounting Teams relative to inventory.
Coordinate special warehouse projects regarding inventory and storage.
Provide direction, training, development, and oversight to the department staff.
Provide performance feedback and perform reviews.
Ensure department staff follow SOPs for inventory processes and procedures.
Develop and update SOPs for replenishment job functions.
Ensure cross-training within the department in the event of workforce constraints.
Communicate with team members to keep them informed of events/issues/changes within the organization.
Assist operations management with special projects.
Opening and closing of building as scheduled.
Crosstrain with other operations supervisors to ensure coverage during absences.
Specific Work Tasks:
Responsible for inventory slotting and location min/max analysis for all items (including flow racks and static racks) to promote productivity of night operations.
Ensure all inventory locations are kept replenished.
Work with Purchasing team to review new upcoming items and set up locations accordingly.
Ensure case conversion factor changes are handled properly.
Review velocity reports to move items to proper locations based on usage.
Review discontinued item listings and move items appropriately.
Review nightly replenishment reports and notes and follow up as needed.
Ensure HD hazardous drugs are stored in the correct areas.
Drive the yearly fiscal physical inventory audit approach, schedule, and all detailed activities.
Create, implement, and monitor inventory cycle count procedures/processes.
Ensure required cycle counts for all Inventory Value Code Groups are met per schedule.
Variance confirmations and corresponding inventory adjustments.
Drive Pareto Analysis to reduce inventory count discrepancies and improve count accuracy.
Ensure quarantined totes for misplace, damaged, and out-of-date items are processed daily in forward and casing area.
Identify trends and make suggestions for process improvements.
Write and maintain accurate written procedures for processes.
Monitor daily workload and adjust personnel accordingly.
Train and cross-train inventory associates within department.
Maintain team member's performance/attendance documentation.
Conduct performance reviews and, if necessary, implement performance improvement plans.
Recommendations to HR on decisions for hiring, firing, and promoting team associates.
Ensure work areas are clean and orderly.
Assist other departments including night operations as needed.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years inventory control experience, including 2 years supervisory experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficient in Excel.
Proficient in ERP software and reporting programs.
Strong data analysis skills.
Skilled at leading and motivating teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with peers, suppliers, and management at all levels.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
