Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Inventory Planning Analyst to support the Integrated Supply Chain team serving the packaging division and corrugated manufacturing plants. This role will improve inventory accuracy, planning visibility, and decision support by analyzing inventory and demand data, validating planning inputs, maintaining reliable reporting, and turning data into concise recommendations for planners and operational stakeholders.

The Inventory Planning Analyst will help the team use a proactive, analytical approach to identify inventory risks, strengthen planning tools, and support decisions that improve service performance, manufacturing efficiency, and customer experience.

Location: This position is based at our headquarters in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The work schedule is a hybrid of 3 days in the office and up to 2 days working from home.

Our Team

The Integrated Supply Chain team partners across planners, corrugated plant teams, customer service, sales, warehousing, transportation, and S&OP. The team supports a fast-paced, customer-driven environment across multiple plants and regions where demand changes frequently and decisions must balance service, inventory cost, capacity, and risk.

This role will support the integrated packaging business, including corrugated products and related manufacturing networks, by enabling accurate data, clear reporting, and insight generation for planning decisions.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze inventory, demand, forecast, and SKU-level data to identify trends, exceptions, risks, and opportunities for follow-up.
  • Support planners with data analysis, insight generation, tools/reporting, process support, data validation, parameter maintenance, and recommendation support.
  • Help maintain accurate planning inputs and reporting outputs, including SKU planning parameters such as lead time, safety stock, MOQ, and other planning assumptions.
  • Monitor inventory-related measures such as days on hand, target attainment, aged inventory, forecast accuracy, OTIF/service, inventory dollars, and planning adherence.
  • Use forecast trends, sales history, inventory data, and customer/SKU characteristics to identify patterns, service risks, and opportunities to improve planning outcomes.
  • Translate dashboards, reports, and KPI variances into a clear business story that explains what changed, why it changed, and what the team should review next.
  • Partner with planners and cross-functional stakeholders to improve visibility, strengthen repeatable processes, and support better inventory decisions.
  • Support work with plant teams and sales leaders by preparing analysis that helps improve customer forecasts, inventory planning, and prioritization of critical items.
  • Apply supply chain thinking, economic thinking, and marginal analysis to help identify value-creating actions that reduce waste, improve service, and minimize unnecessary transaction costs.
  • Use curiosity, accuracy, and follow-through to challenge assumptions with facts and continuously improve planning support processes.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Engineering, Operations or 1-3 years relevant experience in inventory/supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Excel and data analysis to organize information, validate data quality, and generate actionable business insights.
  • Ability to communicate analysis clearly and convert data into concise recommendations for operational stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of supply chain fundamentals, including inventory, demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, safety stock logic, SKU parameters, or service/cost tradeoffs.
  • Ability to use reporting and business analysis tools, such as Excel and Power BI, to support decision-making and communicate findings.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ownership, follow-through, analytical curiosity, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 1-3 years of experience in supply chain analytics, inventory, demand/supply planning support, operations, manufacturing, or warehousing.
  • Experience in demand planning, production planning, inventory planning, supply planning, deployment planning, or another planning-support role.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, SAP/ERP, dashboarding, planning systems, or process automation.
  • Manufacturing, corrugated, CPG, finished goods inventory, warehousing, or customer-driven supply chain experience.
  • Experience creating data visualization tools, dashboards, or repeatable reporting that improves decision-making.
  • Proven ability to apply economic principles, marginal economics, and entrepreneurial thinking to identify value-creating opportunities.
  • MBA, Engineering/Supply Chain degree, APICS certification, or other supply chain certification.
