National Blood Testing Partners is seeking an Inventory & Receiving Specialist for our donor testing laboratory in Stone Mountain, GA.
The Inventory & Receiving Specialist is responsible for performing work in the receipt, stocking, inventory and issuance of materials and supplies within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions. This position is also responsible for assisting with the activities related to the overall cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of the facility and grounds.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of warehouse operations and excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
What You Will Do:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on critical equipment that may include refrigeration, processing equipment, and other blood banking equipment.
- Load, unload, and move materials and supplies using safety equipment, hand trucks, front-end loaders, forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
- Move materials and supplies packed on pallets or in boxes around the facility.
- Stack materials and supplies in accordance with inventory control instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Oversee and record deliveries and pickups to ensure quality and quantity of materials and supplies.
- Perform daily equipment checks and proper disposing of waste material.
- Assist in equipment and facility repairs.
- Assist with the periodic checks of facility ventilation and security systems as recommended by manufacturer instructions to ensure proper functionality.
- Inspect all assigned areas, report any maintenance, and repair issues needing to be addressed daily.
- Thoroughly check all building entrances to ensure that they are closed and properly secured.
- Ensure facility safety by maintaining walkways and safety equipment and assisting in emergency drills.
- Regularly move or relocate equipment and supplies between departments or facilities.
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste in accordance with federal regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Handle and dispose of confidential information; maintain confidentiality of this information.
- Remove trash from all offices, bathrooms, laboratories, hallways, grounds, floors, and break room areas daily.
- Thoroughly clean all offices, buildings, annexes, and hallway areas as needed, which includes dusting, glass cleaning, window cleaning, stain removal from affected areas, floor care, and cleaning of employee break rooms and other company equipment as needed.
- Assist with basic grounds maintenance as needed.
- Work shift may include weekends, holidays, evenings and nights.
- Must have consistent and reliable transportation.
- Attendance is a requirement of this position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred
- Two years of warehouse/facilities experience preferred
- General knowledge of building cleaning and maintenance
- Ability to perform all aspects of general cleaning and floor care
- Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance and upkeep
- General knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Knowledge of applicable policies and procedures
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of proper ergonomics related to lifting and handling of equipment and supplies
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury and promote a safe work environment
Other Relevant Information:
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly required to stand, walk, sit and must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, you will be regularly exposed to the clinical laboratory environment. You will be required to enter areas where other individuals work with human blood.
