Shift: Days | 8 Hours/Day
Hours: 40 Hours Guaranteed
Schedule: Weekends as Needed
On-Call: No Call
Setting: Acute Care Hospital / Health System

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Specialist to support medical supply inventory and distribution within an acute care hospital environment. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory levels, distributing medical/surgical supplies, processing supply requests, and ensuring PAR areas are properly stocked and organized.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Count, pick, replenish, and distribute medical supplies to nursing clean supply and PAR rooms.
  • Verify and maintain appropriate inventory levels in assigned PAR areas.
  • Deliver medical and surgical supplies according to department priorities.
  • Process supply requests received verbally, by phone, through EPIC, and via handheld terminal.
  • Prepare chargeable supplies for dispensing and distribution.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled inventory areas.
  • Distribute medical equipment and furniture to patient care and ancillary areas as needed.
  • Inspect supplies for damaged packaging and remove expired or compromised products.
  • Check expiration dates and rotate inventory to prevent product outdating.
  • Perform cycle counts and identify supplies requiring replenishment.
  • Identify instruments, trays, and other medical supplies requiring restocking.
  • Perform additional inventory and materials management duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Healthcare inventory control experience – Required.
  • Medical terminology experience – Required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent – Required.
  • Basic computer skills – Required.
  • Experience working in a hospital, healthcare supply chain, or materials management environment preferred.

Candidate Requirements:
Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. Previous healthcare inventory or materials management experience is strongly preferred.

  • 2 signed supervisory references, including employment dates.
  • Work authorization status must be included on the candidate profile if applicable.
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at submission.
