Job Summary:


General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.


Under general supervision, this position is responsible for planning and monitoring inventory levels to meet project and production requirements. May maintain centralized document control center for all accountable transactions and total visibility of assets. Participates in maintaining inputs to inventory systems. Reviews requirements and inventory levels and generates purchase requisitions as required. Participates in transfer of stock, tracks shortages, and expedites deliveries as required to meet stock leveling objectives.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


+ Identifies asset posture for MILS locations and processes the necessary Readiness Base leveling (RBL) required to increase or decrease asset authorizations.

+ Reviews Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) contract for validity and support.

+ Will monitor and track data accuracy and reporting of Inventory Control Point data into DoD Accountable Property Systems of Record.

+ Runs the daily and monthly SAP reports and reconcile with Government On-Line Database (GOLDesp).

+ Monitors the Due-In From Maintenance (DIFM) report for any outstanding repairable assets.

+ May assist in reviewing and processing the submission of any cataloging requests through FLITES database.

+ Identifies and updates RIMICS data discrepancies through CSWS database.

+ Reviews the On-Base and Windchill databases for Change Request and drawing updates.

+ Reviews material requirements based on MRP, Kanban, and reorder point inventory reports. Identifies common inventory to be transferred to projects. Generates purchase requisitions to meet project(s) and production requirements.

+ Assists in establishing ABC codes and order policies of parts. Monitors purchased parts and bulk items utilizing shortage reports, sales orders, purchase requests, and work orders. Sets up min/max/reorder quantities for applicable parts. May analyze and replenish inventory utilizing Min-Max reports.

+ Reviews cycle count results and may assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.

+ Compiles various routine inventory reports using appropriate computer system(s) or hard copy documents. Maintains MRP system through planning data input, and maintains databases as required.

+ Assists in identifying future Hi-Time material requirements.

+ Assists in the analysis and resolution of obsolete and excess inventory. Recommends solutions to ensure requirements are met. Reviews unplanned issues from inventory.

+ May assist in determining stock level replenishment requirements for Kanban locations on the production floor or stockroom.

+ May coordinate with purchasing, production planning, and the warehouse to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods.

+ May coordinate with contracts on project transfers and approvals, with engineering on obsolescence and Bill of Materials (BOM) changes, and with manufacturing on status of out-of-stock situations.

+ Assists with investigations and analysis of inventory activities.

+ Responds to routine verbal and written requests for information from internal sources.

+ Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

+ Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

+ Additional Functions: Other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:


+ Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two or more years of related experience in inventory planning and control. Additional education may be substituted in lieu of experience.

+ Must have a general understanding of inventory planning and control concepts and principles and a working knowledge of computer-based manufacturing systems and MRP.

+ Must be customer focused and possess:

+ the ability to identify and analyze issues and interpret data

+ good organization skills to maintain flow of work within the unit

+ strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interface with all levels of internal employees and to accurately document and report

+ basic knowledge of computer operations, applications, word processing, and spreadsheets

+ The ability to work both independently and in a team, environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
