Inventory Specialist

We are hiring for a third party logistics warehouse in Joliet that ships large items straight to customers' doors. As Inventory Specialist, you are the keeper of the count. You check containers as they come off the truck, run cycle counts by client and by location, and track down every discrepancy until it makes sense.

Pickers, loaders, and the order desk all depend on the numbers being right. When inventory is accurate, everything else runs smoothly. When it is not, you are the one who finds out why.

Your job in one line: make sure what the system says and what is on the shelf always match.

• Check every unloaded container for quantity, damage, and paperwork accuracy, then record and report anything that does not line up
• Run regular cycle counts by client and by location so the system and the shelves stay in agreement
• Dig into discrepancies, document what you find, and report them for resolution
• Help plan locations and keep the staging area organized once freight is unloaded
• Work hand in hand with unloaders, pickers, and your supervisor to keep product moving and counts clean

• Fluent English so you can communicate clearly across the floor
• A sharp eye for numbers and the focus to stay accurate through detailed, repetitive counting
• A working understanding of basic warehouse paperwork like pickup sheets, inbound sheets, and stock reports
• Organization and integrity with data. You investigate and report instead of quietly fixing records on your own
• Warehouse or inventory experience is welcome, and a strong attention to detail matters most

• You speak Mandarin or Spanish, which is a big plus on this floor
• You have done cycle counting, inventory control, or receiving before
• You have used a WMS or yard management system

You will be on your feet and on the move for most of the shift, walking the warehouse floor and dock. Expect some lifting and reaching while you count and check freight. If you would rather walk the aisles than sit behind a screen all day, this is a good fit.

$18 to $20 an hour depending on experience, and there is room to talk for the right person. Full time, day shift, so your evenings stay yours.
