Position Overview:

The Inventory Specialist / Material Handler is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, tracking, and movement of materials to support operational efficiency and project execution. This role ensures inventory integrity through detailed verification processes, proper system documentation, and adherence to company safety standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with inventory systems (SAGE), and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

This individual plays a critical role in supporting field and operational teams by ensuring materials are available, accurately tracked, and handled in accordance with company and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and verify accuracy of quantity and quality of all incoming deliveries.
  • Label materials and place them in designated storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate account of inventory utilizing SAGE.
  • Record materials handled and moved daily.
  • Operate forklifts to move, store, and handle materials. Must be forklift certified
  • Ability to use a computer to record inventory levels in company database
  • Regularly inspect and maintain all material handling equipment
  • Maintain a safe work area and report any unsafe situations immediately
  • Perform all work in accordance with AES safety guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior warehouse, inventory control, or material handling experience preferred
  • Experience using inventory management systems (SAGE preferred)
  • Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain certification)
  • Ability to accurately inspect and verify incoming shipments for quantity and quality
  • Proficiency using a computer and inventory database systems
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
  • Ability to maintain accurate daily records of materials handled and moved
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry materials in accordance with job demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
