What you will do::

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading inventory operations to ensure accurate inventory management, efficient receiving processes, and reliable material availability across one or more facilities. This role oversees inventory accuracy, receiving operations, cycle count programs, physical inventories, and inventory transfers while supervising inventory personnel and partnering closely with warehouse, purchasing, production, and operations teams. The Inventory Supervisor is a hands-on leader focused on maintaining inventory integrity, improving operational efficiency, and supporting exceptional customer service.

 

Inventory Management

  • Oversee daily inventory operations to maintain accurate inventory records and material availability
  • Manage inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify shortages, excess inventory, and replenishment needs
  • Coordinate inventory transfers between branches, warehouses, and operational facilities
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate inventory documentation and reporting

Receiving Operations

  • Supervise daily receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming materials
  • Verify incoming shipments for quantity, condition, and quality
  • Coordinate receiving schedules with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams
  • Manage freight discrepancies, damaged shipments, and freight claims
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of received materials

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop inventory and receiving personnel
  • Assign daily work and monitor employee productivity and performance
  • Train new team members on inventory procedures, systems, and best practices
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Support performance management and employee development initiatives

Supply Chain & Operational Support

  • Partner with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Sales, and Operations teams to support business objectives
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Monitor inventory movement and demand to support operational planning
  • Assist with purchasing decisions by providing inventory insights and recommendations
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, transfers, shortages, and operational metrics

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient warehouse and inventory storage areas
  • Ensure inventory handling practices comply with company standards
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance activities as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, or distribution
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Experience with inventory management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working with building materials, steel, rebar, manufacturing, or industrial distribution preferred
  • Experience managing inventory across multiple facilities is a plus
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
  • Combination of office, warehouse, yard, manufacturing, and distribution environments
  • Frequent interaction with inventory personnel, warehouse teams, purchasing, production, and branch leadership
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections throughout operational facilities
  • Occasional lifting of materials or inventory items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions
  • Occasional travel between branch or warehouse locations may be required
  • May require extended hours during inventory counts or operational needs

Pay Range: USD $57,200.00 - USD $82,225.00 /Yr.
