Inventory Supervisor

Position Overview
A large multinational third-party logistics (3PL) organization is seeking an experienced Inventory Supervisor to lead inventory control activities within a high-volume warehouse and distribution operation. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, supervising warehouse personnel, analyzing inventory data, and ensuring efficient movement and storage of products.
The ideal candidate will have strong SAP and Microsoft Excel skills, solid warehouse leadership experience, and a proven ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily inventory control activities, including receiving, putaway, transfers, cycle counts, and shipping.
- Lead and support inventory associates to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures.
- Utilize SAP to monitor inventory transactions, research discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Use Microsoft Excel to analyze inventory data, prepare reports, track variances, and identify trends.
- Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation activities.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies, root causes, shortages, damages, and location errors.
- Maintain inventory accuracy across warehouse locations and ensure proper system transactions.
- Monitor inventory movements and ensure products are properly received, stored, picked, and shipped.
- Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and standard operating practices.
- Partner with warehouse operations, transportation, customer service, and management teams to resolve inventory issues.
- Train, coach, and develop inventory personnel on processes, systems, safety, and accuracy requirements.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy, productivity, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, OSHA standards, and 3PL operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, inventory accuracy, and overall operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of inventory control or warehouse operations experience.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL environment.
- Hands-on SAP experience is required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and inventory reporting.
- Experience with WMS or other warehouse management systems.
- Strong knowledge of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work with multiple departments and support a multinational customer base.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for a large multinational 3PL, freight forwarding, or distribution organization.
- Experience with SAP inventory modules or SAP-based warehouse transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
- Forklift certification or experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Experience managing inventory for multiple customers or complex supply-chain operations.
Compensation & Employment
Pay: $35.00 per hour
