    Shift Details:

    Mon-Fri either 0700-1530, 0800-1630, 0900-1730 No weekends, no holidays On-call every eighth week

    Job Summary:

    The Investigational Drug Service (IDS) Pharmacist is responsible for coordinating pharmacy services related to clinical research throughout Froedtert Hospital. The IDS Pharmacist is responsible for abiding by regulatory requirements as well as practices related to the safe, ethical and quality provision of investigational pharmacy services and corresponding drug products. Research, administrative and educational duties are required of this position. This position has an extensive customer service base, including frequent interactions with internal and external customers. This position provides daily oversight of a clinical research assistant, and intermittent oversight of pharmacy students, interns, residents, based upon projects and rotations. Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

    Pharm.D. degree or B.S. with commensurate experience is required. Residency training is preferred.

    SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

    Knowledge of applicable TJC standards, FDA and OHRP rules and regulations governing research in humans and use of investigational agents, and state and federal laws. Clinical knowledge regarding clinical research, drug products, disease states, and pharmacy and assures rational and safe clinical drug trial design. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with both external and internal professionals and other customers. Exceptional organizational skills and able to demonstrate skills in prioritization, problem solving, team building, decision making, time management and strategic planning. Familiarity with equipment necessary to provide pharmacy services (IV pumps) and with sterile product preparation (experience in handling biohazardous agents desired). Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook; Micromedex, Epic, and PDX.

    LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

    Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Wisconsin (or eligible) is required. CITI certification.
