Position Summary
WRAL-TV is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and versatile Investigative Reporter to join our award-winning Enterprise Team, contributing to two of the station's signature brands: the WRAL Investigates Unit and the 5 On Your Side Consumer Unit. This role is ideal for a journalist who thrives on accountability storytelling, consumer advocacy, and impactful investigative work across multiple platforms.
This position requires a driven, ethical journalist with strong storytelling chops and the technical ability to independently produce compelling content for all WRAL platforms-including WRAL.com, WRAL News+, YouTube, social media, and television newscasts.

Essential Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a newsroom reporting role with a focus on live, field, and investigative reporting.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with video shooting equipment and non-linear editing systems (e.g., Edius, Premiere, Final Cut).
Strong command of AP style and journalistic best practices.
Familiarity with data journalism, spreadsheet analysis, and FOIA/public records processes is a plus.
Digital Fluency:
Proven ability to generate content for web, streaming, and social platforms.
Comfortable using tools like Chartbeat, CMS platforms, and social engagement analytics.
