Position Summary
We are seeking an Investigator to support a busy personal injury legal practice by meeting with prospective clients, gathering critical case information, and helping convert qualified leads into active cases. This is a remote position that requires extensive local travel, with periodic visits to an office in Chesapeake, Virginia for equipment and supplies.
The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and comfortable working independently while maintaining frequent communication with legal staff. Candidates should be available during normal business hours and willing to respond to occasional evening and weekend calls as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with prospective clients to explain available legal services and answer general process-related questions.
  • Build rapport with potential clients while evaluating whether matters meet established case criteria.
  • Conduct client interviews and obtain recorded statements when appropriate.
  • Gather and organize supporting documentation, including accident reports, medical records, contracts, authorizations, insurance documents, receipts, and photographs.
  • Photograph injuries, property damage, and other evidence relevant to claims.
  • Interview witnesses and collect additional information to support case development.
  • Complete intake paperwork and other required legal documents accurately.
  • Maintain a detailed appointment calendar and manage scheduling priorities.
  • Communicate appointment outcomes promptly with intake staff and collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and negotiators to obtain additional information.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment, including computer, scanner, printer, camera, and mobile phone.
  • Remain responsive to incoming calls and schedule appointments promptly, with a goal of meeting prospective clients within 24 48 hours of intake.
  • Use a personal vehicle for travel; mileage reimbursement is provided.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
    • Personal injury law
    • Investigations
    • Law enforcement
    • Client-facing sales
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable interacting with the public and handling sensitive conversations professionally.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience interviewing clients or witnesses.
  • Familiarity with legal documentation and case intake procedures.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Background working in a service-oriented or highly client-focused environment.
