LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering on a confidential, proactive search for a Senior Manager, Investment Accounting to support a complex and growing investment platform within the insurance and financial services space.

This role will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in investment accounting and reporting, partnering closely with senior finance leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple accounting frameworks.

Role Overview

The Senior Manager, Investment Accounting will play a key role in overseeing investment accounting activities, supporting close processes, financial disclosures, and regulatory reporting under U.S. GAAP, Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), and IFRS.

This position will work cross-functionally with investment teams, treasury, and auditors while maintaining strong internal controls and contributing to continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an SME supporting daily investment accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls

  • Oversee statutory investment reporting, including NAIC schedules and related disclosures

  • Provide technical accounting guidance for investment transactions under U.S. GAAP, SAP, and IFRS

  • Support accounting and reporting for a diverse investment portfolio, including fixed income, structured products, equities, and alternative investments

  • Ensure proper classification, valuation, and income recognition across applicable accounting frameworks

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual investment reporting deliverables

  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting (SOX environment)

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support the resolution of audit findings

  • Contribute to process improvements and participate in special projects as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on investment accounting

  • 5+ years of leadership or senior-level experience

  • 4+ years of experience within the insurance industry

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SAP, and IFRS

  • In-depth understanding of NAIC reporting and insurance regulatory requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation

  • Public accounting background

  • Experience with investment-related accounting and financial instruments

  • Prior exposure to ERP systems (PeopleSoft experience a plus)

  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Pay Details: $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 per year
