Senior Analyst / Junior Associate – MedTech Investment Banking

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Analyst / Junior Associate to join its leading MedTech Investment Banking team in either Boston or San Francisco. This role provides the opportunity to work on a broad range of strategic M&A, capital raising, and advisory assignments for innovative medical device, diagnostics, life science tools, and healthcare technology companies. Team members gain significant client exposure, meaningful responsibility, and the opportunity to work alongside senior bankers on complex, high-profile transactions.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a genuine interest in the MedTech sector and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, valuation analyses (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and LBO analyses), merger models, and accretion/dilution analyses.
  • Prepare client presentation materials, pitch books, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, board materials, and transaction marketing documents.
  • Conduct industry and company research across the MedTech ecosystem, including medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences tools, digital health, and healthcare technology.
  • Support execution of sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, equity offerings, debt financings, and strategic advisory engagements.
  • Perform financial and operational due diligence, coordinate diligence requests, and assist with data room management.
  • Work directly with clients, private equity sponsors, attorneys, accountants, and other transaction participants throughout the deal process.
  • Monitor public markets, M&A activity, financing trends, and competitive dynamics within the healthcare and MedTech sectors.
  • Mentor analysts (for Associate-level candidates) while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of investment banking experience, preferably within Healthcare, MedTech, Life Sciences, or Technology.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting, valuation methodologies, and financial statement analysis.
  • Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills.
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and presentation development capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Biology, or a related field.
  • CPA, CFA, or advanced degree is a plus but not required.
