    Description

    Selby Jennings is partnered with a high growth mid-market Investment Banking Boutique focused on mergers and acquisitions. This group has added ex-Elite Boutique and Bulge Bracket bankers to the roster, and are looking to add more Investment Banking Managing Directors to increase their coverage across white space.

    Ideal candidates are current Investment Banking Managing Directors focused on M&A, and specialized within Technology, Healthcare, Business Services, Industrials, and Consumer, and generating $3mm+ revenue per year. Additionally, ideal candidates are client facing and capable of leveraging business development resourcing, deal execution staff, and have a track record in mentoring Investment Banking Directors to Investment Banking Managing Directors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Origination & Coverage

    • Proactively source, originate, and execute sell‑side and buy‑side M&A assignments

    • Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with CEOs, CFOs, boards, private equity sponsors, and other key decision‑makers

    • Serve as a senior adviser on strategic alternatives, capital allocation, and shareholder value initiatives

    • Transaction Execution

    • Lead end‑to‑end execution of M&A transactions, including mandate development, valuation, structuring, negotiation, and closing

    • Oversee preparation of marketing materials, financial analysis, and transaction documentation

    • Manage deal teams to ensure high‑quality execution and timely delivery

    • Leadership & Team Development

    • Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level bankers across the platform

    • Partner closely with product and coverage teams to drive cross‑sell opportunities

    • Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the overall M&A franchise

    Qualifications

    • 12+ years of investment banking experience with a strong focus on M&A advisory
    • Proven track record of deal origination and revenue generation
    • Extensive experience leading complex transactions from pitch through close
    • Strong network of corporate, sponsor, and professional relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to manage senior client relationships independently
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred
