Vice President, Financial Restructuring

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a leading investment banking platform seeking to add a Vice President to its Financial Restructuring team in Los Angeles. This team advises companies, creditors, financial sponsors, and other stakeholders on some of the most complex restructuring, liability management, distressed M&A, and special situations transactions in the market.
This is an opportunity to join a highly active practice with significant exposure to both debtor-side and creditor-side engagements, offering meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and a clear path for continued career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day execution of restructuring and special situations transactions
- Advise companies, lenders, creditors, sponsors, and other stakeholders on complex financial situations
- Analyze business plans, liquidity forecasts, capital structures, and restructuring alternatives
- Develop detailed financial models and valuation analyses
- Coordinate workstreams across clients, legal advisors, lenders, and other transaction participants
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, board materials, and marketing materials
- Manage and mentor analysts and associates while overseeing transaction execution
- Participate in negotiations and strategic discussions on behalf of clients
- Support debt and equity financings, distressed M&A transactions, and liability management exercises
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant investment banking, restructuring, leveraged finance, or special situations experience
- Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, valuation, and capital structures
- Experience working on financial restructurings, recapitalizations, distressed M&A, or related transactions
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams and transaction deliverables simultaneously
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills
- Experience managing and developing junior team members preferred
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record required
Desired Backgrounds
The ideal candidate will come from a restructuring, leveraged finance, special situations, or investment banking background and possess experience advising clients through complex capital structure events, distressed situations, or strategic transactions.
Candidates with experience across multiple transaction types, including debtor-side restructuring, creditor advisory, liability management, distressed M&A, and financing assignments, are especially encouraged to apply.
