About the Opportunity

A lower middle-market private equity firm (representative of firms within our network) may seek a highly analytical Investment Evaluation Analyst to support the assessment and underwriting of potential investments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Investment Evaluation & Financial Analysis

  • Screen inbound investment opportunities and prepare structured evaluation summaries

  • Build and maintain operating and transaction models (3-statement models, DCFs, LBOs)

  • Analyze projected returns, IRRs, MOIC, capital structures, and downside scenarios

  • Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and intrinsic valuation techniques

  • Identify key value drivers, risk factors, and sensitivity assumptions

Due Diligence & Market Research

  • Support financial, commercial, operational, and legal diligence workstreams

  • Analyze historical financial statements, revenue drivers, margin trends, and working capital dynamics

  • Evaluate KPIs, customer cohorts, retention metrics, and unit economics

  • Conduct industry research and competitive analysis to support investment theses

Investment Committee & Reporting Support

  • Draft screening memos, investment committee presentations, and analytical summaries

  • Synthesize complex diligence findings into clear, actionable insights

  • Present data-driven perspectives on risks, return potential, and strategic positioning

Portfolio & Transaction Support

  • Assist with transaction execution, data room review, and coordination with advisors

  • Support portfolio company performance tracking and KPI reporting

  • Contribute analytical support for add-on acquisitions, refinancing opportunities, and exit evaluations
