A premier global law firm is seeking an Investment Funds Associate Attorney to join its New York office.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing private equity sponsors, hedge funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, asset managers, and institutional investors in sophisticated fund formation and investment management matters.

Ideal Background

3–6 years of investment funds, investment management, or fund formation experience gained at a sophisticated law firm

• Experience representing private equity funds, hedge funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, hybrid funds, asset managers, and institutional investors

• Experience handling the formation, structuring, organization, and ongoing operation of private investment funds

• Experience drafting and negotiating limited partnership agreements, limited liability company agreements, subscription agreements, side letters, management agreements, carried interest arrangements, and related fund documentation

• Experience advising clients regarding fund governance, securities law compliance, investment adviser matters, investor negotiations, and ongoing operational issues

• Experience with retail alternative investment vehicles, including Business Development Companies (BDCs), interval funds, and closed-end funds, is a plus

• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

• Ability to independently manage sophisticated fund matters while maintaining significant client interaction

• Excellent academic credentials

J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required

New York bar admission required or ability to become admitted
