The associate will advise a diverse group of sophisticated investors and organizations on a broad range of traditional and alternative investment transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to build a sophisticated transactional practice and develop a deeper understanding of the legal, business, and investment considerations involved in complex transactions.
The practice is highly collaborative and regularly works across multiple areas of the firm. The associate will gain exposure to a wide range of investment matters while working with attorneys who bring significant experience in this area.
Investment Management Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and negotiate complex investment and transactional documents
Advise clients on traditional and alternative investment transactions
Manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously
Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, internal attorneys, and paralegals
Identify and communicate material legal and business issues
Support transactions from initial review through closing
Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas
Develop a strong understanding of investment structures and business considerations
Provide responsive, practical, and detail-oriented client service
Investment Management Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the Washington State Bar, or eligibility to become admitted
3+ years of experience as an Associate. Investment management or institutional-investor experience is preferred but not required
Experience in private funds, corporate transactions, finance, securities, or other sophisticated commercial matters may also be considered
Strong academic and professional credentials
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and analytical abilities
Exceptional attention to detail
Ability to review and organize large, complex documents
Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple active matters
Comfort working both independently and as part of a team
Interest in developing a strong business and investment skill set

Compensation: $190,000 - $235,000 + bonus
