Investment Operations Specialists support the end-to-end operational processes that enable investment teams to function efficiently and accurately. The role combines transaction processing, data oversight, and cross-functional coordination to support portfolio managers and traders while maintaining strong operational controls.
These roles often involve close collaboration with trading desks, portfolio managers, fund accounting, compliance, risk management, and external service providers.
Support daily investment operations, including trade capture, settlement, and reconciliation
Ensure accuracy of positions, cash balances, and transaction records across systems
Coordinate with brokers, custodians, and fund administrators to resolve breaks and discrepancies
Support portfolio and fund-level reporting, including performance, exposures, and cash flows
Assist with operational aspects of portfolio rebalancing and investment implementation
Maintain operational procedures, documentation, and internal controls
Support audits, regulatory requests, and compliance reviews
Analyze operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Prepare daily, weekly, and ad-hoc operational reports for internal stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field
Understanding of investment operations, transaction lifecycles, and financial instruments
Experience or coursework in operations, middle office, or asset management (preferred)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume workflows
Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with SQL, Python, or operations systems is a plus
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in deadline-driven, process-oriented environments
Clear written and verbal communication skills
