Investment Operations Analyst
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Newark, NJ
Work Setup: Hybrid — 2–3 days per week in the office
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week

Join the global asset management business of a leading financial services organization committed to solving complex financial challenges and delivering meaningful outcomes for millions of clients. The Investment Operations Analyst will support alternative investment accounting, portfolio activity validation, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Investment Operations Analyst Responsibilities

  • Validate portfolio- and transaction-level activity, including trades, income payments, corporate actions, and deal restructurings.

  • Review financial statements for limited partnerships and joint ventures.

  • Process cash transactions and confirm that ledger activity aligns with custody bank records.

  • Prepare, review, and verify accounting entries and general ledger reconciliations.

  • Process equity pickups and losses for alternative investments.

  • Reconcile investment activity across custody banks, trade systems, subledgers, and financial statements.

  • Monitor data integrity and investigate accounting or reporting discrepancies.

  • Collect and maintain supporting investment documentation.

  • Prepare reports for business partners, accounting teams, and senior stakeholders.

  • Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and process-improvement initiatives.

Investment Operations Analyst Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Strong accounting, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interpret accounting principles and analyze financial statements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Authorization to work in the United States without employer-sponsored visa support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting private equity, limited partnerships, joint ventures, or other alternative investments.

  • Familiarity with Oracle General Ledger, Investran, PAM, or comparable investment accounting systems.
