Job Summary and Qualifications
  • Under the supervision of the Director of UR & Outpatient Services, provides direct patient care.
  • Assists with overall program operations, including fiscal and administrative management, marketing, and assisting in implementation of policies and procedures
  • Enter admissions, discharges, authorization info and all other essential info into HMS (patient registration).
  • Ensure admission authorization is obtained prior to patient starting.
  • Maintain Front-End Log (tracking of collections, authorizations, and referrals)
  • Front desk management including answering phones, fax/scan/print, email and general computer usage
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Calculate patient financial liability using info obtained from the verification process.
  • Use math skills to accurately calculate patient financial liability using info obtained from the verification process.
  • Collect patient copays and deductibles.
  • Appointment management: scheduling for assessments, medication consultations, and outpatient programs.
  • Supply management including: refreshments/snacks, office supplies.
  • Respond appropriately and timely to patient requests.
  • Carry out all aspects of patient care as directed by the Outpatient Clinical Director including taking vitals, intervening with patients during crisis, and providing appropriate interventions or services to patients as deemed necessary.
  • Conduct brief screenings and referrals and coordinate with inpatient intake office.
  • Assist in creating charts, filing, and managing charge sheets.
  • Documentation for medical records and reports is timely, legible, thorough, and in required format.
  • Interact with patients, family members, external entities and internal staff professionally and respectfully.
  • Work collaboratively with all treatment team members to create a treatment environment that supports the facility's mission to provide exemplary patient care and customer service.
  • Act to preserve patient and family dignity and safety.
  • Community and family outreach, to include inpatient units and community referral sources

  What qualifications you will need:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years experience with outpatient psychiatric services preferred
