• Program-Related Service Activities Members will complete all required AmeriCorps trainings, including Member Orientation; Time Management and Hour Planning; Civic Action Academy; Social Change Wheel; and Life After AmeriCorps. Members will also participate in YMHC trainings including YMH first aid and one advanced training in the school-based pathway. Position/Site-Specific Service ActivitiesMental Health Promotion & Prevention: Support campus wellness initiatives through awareness campaigns, stress-reduction activities, student surveys, resource development, and wellness events. Gather student feedback to identify needs and adjust programming, outreach, and supports. Community Partnership Development: Identify and strengthen partnerships with community organizations that provide mental health, wellness, and related supports. Help connect students with appropriate resources, gather partner feedback, and identify opportunities to improve collaboration and access. Student Engagement & Outreach: Increase awareness of mental health and wellness resources through student organization meetings, campus displays, social media, monthly communications, group activities, and student support meetings. Serve as a resource by connecting students with appropriate campus and community supports. Awareness, Communication & Collaboration:* Develop at least six outreach materials addressing identified gaps in mental health and wellness information. Materials may include a faculty/staff crisis-response toolkit, information on free and accessible community resources, and referral pathways. Member Duties : Lead efforts to integrate mental health and stress mitigation into the academic environment as a key component of student development. Identify and cultivate partnerships with community organizations that provide mental health and wellness support. Serve as a resource to students by connecting them with appropriate support opportunities and assisting with mental health and wellness referrals. Coordinate events, activities, and inclusive initiatives that promote awareness, education, stress management, and peer support. Foster cross-departmental collaboration to strengthen student support across academic programs. Represent Allen College at relevant mental health and wellness events and activities. Uphold the mission, vision, values, and policies of Allen College and demonstrate UnityPoint Health FOCUS Values and Standards of Behavior. Professionally manage deadlines, meetings, and interactions with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
