IP Prosecution Knowledge Management & Innovation Associate Attorney

Our client is seeking an IP Prosecution Knowledge Management & Innovation Associate Attorney to support the development, adoption, and optimization of knowledge resources, workflows, and AI-driven technologies within its Intellectual Property Prosecution practice. This role is ideal for an attorney with patent prosecution experience who is interested in legal technology, knowledge management, process improvement, and innovation.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining patent prosecution templates, playbooks, practice notes, and knowledge resources; capturing and documenting best practices; and enhancing internal knowledge repositories. The attorney will evaluate and test AI-powered and other legal technologies related to patent drafting, prosecution, prior art analysis, workflow automation, and portfolio management. They will collaborate with attorneys, vendors, and cross-functional teams to pilot new tools, create practical workflows and prompts, and support the successful implementation of technology solutions.

Additional duties include designing and delivering training programs, onboarding attorneys to approved tools, creating user guides and reference materials, presenting best practices, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through process standardization and automation.

Qualified candidates must possess a J.D. and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, along with 3–5 years of patent prosecution experience. Strong communication, project management, organizational, and technology skills are required, as is a demonstrated interest in AI and legal technology. Salary ranges from $160,000–$220,000 in Boston and $155,000–$215,000 in San Diego.
