Scion Legal Staffing is leading the search for an IP/Trademark Paralegal on behalf of a respected and established law firm in Encino, California. This is an onsite, direct-hire opportunity.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with experience in trademark and copyright matters who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will support a busy Intellectual Property Practice Group, working closely with multiple attorneys on domestic and international trademark matters from application through registration and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents, correspondence, agreements, and trademark-related filings.
  • Conduct domestic and international trademark clearance searches.
  • Prepare and electronically file trademark applications, responses to Office Actions, Statements of Use, post-registration maintenance, and renewal filings with the USPTO.
  • Draft trademark assignment documents and assist with other intellectual property filings.
  • Manage trademark prosecution from application through registration and post-registration maintenance.
  • Maintain trademark docketing systems and monitor deadlines.
  • Coordinate with foreign counsel on priority and non-priority trademark filings.
  • Assist with domain name registrations, renewals, and docket management.
  • Conduct online investigations related to the enforcement of clients' intellectual property rights.
  • Maintain organized electronic files and provide administrative support, including calendar management and expense reporting.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and third parties.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting an Intellectual Property or Trademark practice.
  • Experience preparing and filing trademark applications and related USPTO documents.
  • Knowledge of trademark prosecution, docketing, and post-registration maintenance.
  • Experience conducting trademark clearance searches.
  • Familiarity with domestic and international trademark filing procedures.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting several attorneys.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management systems.
