Work Schedule: 40 hours per week; schedule may vary based on organizational needs. 

Position Summary: 

The Manager of Integrated Pest Management at LiveHappy, LLC, is a key role responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring all pest and disease issues across various cultivation stages. This position ensures the production of consistently clean crops, meeting both company expectations and regulatory requirements. The IPM Manager operates within the guidelines set by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, California Department of Food and Agriculture, and California Department of Public Health. 

  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Maintain an active and up-to-date PCA license 

• Ensure timely submission of all pesticide application reports to meet county and state regulatory requirements.

• Develop and conduct comprehensive employee training programs, including IPM safety training, across the organization

• Develop and maintain IPM control programs and technical protocols in collaboration with Growers, Techs, and the Director of Cultivation/Supervisors 

• Direct scouting programs, diagnosing pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other issues affecting crop health. 

• Supervise IPM Techs, providing mentorship, feedback, and conducting performance reviews. 

• Assist staff in maintaining pesticide applicators licenses through classes and continuing education. 

• Create and lead training programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all IPM activities. 

• Represent LiveHappy, LLC as the point of contact for the Agricultural Commissioner's Office. 

• Ensure compliance with state and federal policies regarding pesticide use. 

• Maintain current pesticide labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). 

• Keep accurate pesticide application records, exploring options to integrate them into our company one drive.  

• Address pest problems promptly, ensuring documentation of incidents and application records. 

• Develop a comprehensive IPM plan encompassing biocontrols, beneficial insects, and spraying programs. 

• Assist in estimating budgets for pest control needs and/or pesticides. 

• Maintain accurate records of on-site pesticide inventories and handle the ordering of pesticides and pest control items. 

• Collaborate with internal teams and external parties, such as subsidiaries, suppliers, and consultants. 

• Perform other duties as necessary. 

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): 

• Preferably holds a degree or diploma in horticulture, entomology, or biology from a recognized college or university. 

• 3-5 years of related mid-management experience in a large-scale production facility preferred. 

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including periodic weekends. 

• Strong oral and written communication skills. 

• Team player with the ability to meet deadlines. 

• Bilingual skills desirable.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
