This is unskilled, limited semi-skilled, and semi-skilled manual work requiring the application of skills and knowledge above the basic laboring level serving the City's Neighborhood Team (N-Team) in providing community improvements and assisting qualified homeowners with various home repairs addressing City Code violations, including, but not limited to, disabled accessibility improvements, carpentry, painting, plumbing, roof patching, masonry work, debris removal and yard maintenance. Work involves driving a motor vehicle, using the required standard hand/power tools, small turf/landscaping equipment, various construction equipment to perform tasks of a manual nature, and other related work. An employee in this class must be able to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions and perform required work above ground level using extension ladders up to 32'. An employee in this class may also act as lead worker for intermittent periods but does not exercise formal supervision over other employees. Work is performed under close supervision and in accordance with specific instructions, including defined procedures and schedules. Work is reviewed while in progress, upon completion and through conversation. Employees in this position are expected to be able to perform any and all work tasks and comply with any work schedules, attendance, or duty requirements which may be established by City or department rules, or applicable union contracts.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
The successful candidate must be either a resident of the City of St. Petersburg as of his or her date of employment or establish primary residency within the city limits of St. Petersburg within six months of completing the probationary period. Furthermore, as long as the successful candidate is employed in this classification, he or she must reside within the city limits of St. Petersburg. This requirement is not applicable to current City employees who were hired before October 20, 1997.
