Overview
We're looking for an Ironwork Foreman who can manage a field crew while still putting their hands on the work. You'll be responsible for daily production, crew direction, and keeping the job moving safely and on schedule. You will be based out of our Alpharetta and Gainesville Shops, but travel to active construction jobsites will be needed.
Candidates must be willing to travel to locations as needed.
Schedule: 40-60 hrs/week, possible weekends
Pay Range: $35/hr - $42/hr
Requirements
Direct a crew of ironworkers and helpers on structural steel and miscellaneous metals scope
Read and work from structural drawings, erection plans, and shop drawings
Lay out, fit, and erect structural steel — columns, beams, connection plates, bracing, and embed plates
Coordinate lifts with crane operators and riggers; plan and execute safely
Weld structural connections per WPS and project specifications (SMAW, FCAW)
Coordinate daily with the superintendent and GC on sequencing, access, and schedule
Enforce PPE, cleanliness, and jobsite safety compliance
Track crew hours, maintain production logs, and communicate material and manpower needs
Mentor and develop journeymen and apprentice ironworkers
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of ironworker field experience in structural steel erection or heavy industrial work
2+ years in a foreman or lead role directing a crew
Proficient reading structural drawings and erection plans
Qualified to rig, signal, and direct crane picks; Rigging and signalperson certification
Competent welder in SMAW and FCAW structural processes
Journeyman Ironworker card
Experience on commercial or industrial construction projects
AWS D1.1 structural weld qualification
Experience working alongside mechanical and piping scopes
Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation and ability to travel
Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Forklift, scissor lift, fall protection, or boom lift certifications
