    About the Role We're looking for an Ironworker that will be responsible for erecting and assembling structural and miscellaneous steel for buildings, bridges, pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), and other construction projects. This role works side-by-side with skilled tradespeople and the project foreman to interpret blueprints, handle heavy materials, and ensure every piece is placed with precision. The position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality.

    Core Responsibilities

    Structural Steel Assembly

    Safely install, align, and secure steel beams, columns, and girders according to project specifications and blueprints. Assemble and connect structural and miscellaneous steel components for a variety of projects. Ensure accuracy and precision during installation to meet engineering and safety standards.

    Rigging Equipment and Operation

    Operate cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to lift and position steel materials. Use rigging gear, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively. Assist in welding, cutting, and bolting steel components as needed.

    Safety and Compliance

    Follow all company and industry safety protocols, including fall protection and hazard identification. Maintain situational awareness to identify and address unsafe conditions immediately. Participate in required safety training and comply with OSHA standards.

    Tools and Equipment Care

    Inspect tools, rigging, and welding equipment regularly. Maintain all tools and machinery in safe, working conditions. Report any equipment issues promptly to supervisors.

    Preferred Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED. Completion of an Ironworker Apprenticeship Program or equivalent vocational training. 5 or more years of ironworking or related construction experience, with strong background in structural steel erection. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Experience operating heavy equipment, rigging tools, and welding apparatus. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including working at heights and handling heavy materials. Flexibility to travel to job sites in the Gulf Coast, Nashville, and Huntsville regions. Eligible for a TWIC card. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass a drug screen and background check and remain compliant with random testing requirements.

    Welding ability with certifications preferred. Certifications such as NCCER, OSHA 10, or OSHA 30. Experience working with PEMB installation. Knowledge of advanced rigging and safety technologies.
