As an Irrigation Specialist, you will support the design, maintenance, and optimization of irrigation systems across our landscaping operations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient water distribution, system functionality, and landscape health for residential, commercial, or municipal properties. The ideal candidate has strong technical irrigation knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to water conservation and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Inspect, maintain, repair, and adjust irrigation systems including controllers, valves, heads, piping, and wiringDiagnose and troubleshoot irrigation system issues such as leaks, electrical faults, and coverage deficienciesProgram, monitor, and adjust irrigation controllers to optimize watering schedules and water efficiencyPerform seasonal irrigation startup, winterization, and system auditsEnsure irrigation systems comply with local water regulations and conservation practicesCoordinate with landscape maintenance, enhancement, and construction teams as neededMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and water usageCommunicate system issues, recommendations, and repairs to supervisors or clients clearly and professionallyAssist with irrigation installations or system upgrades when requiredFollow all safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company policiesPerforming preventative and diagnostic system checks on an ongoing basisReporting system check findings to the operations leadership teamUnderstanding client needs while meeting or exceeding expectationsTroubleshooting and resolving irrigation issues in a timely and efficient mannerSafely operating and maintaining irrigation equipment and all other company propertyCommunicating escalations to the Account Manager and/or Irrigation ManagerMaintaining a positive and collaborative attitude with internal and external clients
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent3+ years of hands-on experience with irrigation systemsStrong knowledge of irrigation components, troubleshooting, and repair techniquesAbility to read irrigation plans or system layoutsMechanical and electrical aptitudeAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsPhysical ability to lift equipment, dig, and perform manual workStrong organizational skills and attention to detailReliable transportation
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience in commercial or large-scale landscape irrigation systemsIrrigation certifications (e.g., Irrigation Technician, Certified Irrigation Technician, or equivalent)Familiarity with leading irrigation brands and controllers (Rain Bird, Hunter, Toro, etc.)Experience with smart irrigation technology and water management systemsKnowledge of local water regulations and conservation requirementsBilingual (English/Spanish) communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage daily prioritiesStrong customer service and communication skillsInterest in career growth into irrigation management or operations leadership2 Wire troubleshooting is highly desirableValid Florida Driver's License and the ability to pass an MVR check
