Irrigation Technician

We are looking for a skilled Irrigation Service Technician to join our team, who likes being outdoors, willing to learn and become an expert in our trade, and is a team player! For over 35 years we have been a leader in irrigation and landscape lighting design, installation and maintenance services for both residential and commercial customers in MD and DC. We are a great place to work and have many employees who have been with us for 5 to 10+ years!

The Irrigation Service Technician duties and responsibilities include performing all duties requested on service work orders, spring start-ups, winterizations, and any and all repairs needed for either Irrigation or Landscape Lighting systems. To be successful as a Service Technician, you should stay up-to-date with product features, have good communication and technical skills, and have the ability to proactively foresee potential problems and solve them.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Spring Start-Ups and Winterizations of irrigation systems and piers
• Repair and replace damaged valves, controllers, pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads and other irrigation system components
• Installing, replacing, and operating irrigation controllers, lighting transformers, and timers
• Operate various types of equipment such as shovels, trenchers, pipe pullers, drills, saws and compressors
• Tracing electrical components to locate valves, wire breaks, existing underground utilities, etc.
• Repair and replace damaged landscape lighting fixtures, bulbs, and cut wires.
• Troubleshoot any and all irrigation or lighting problems and be able to recommend repairs needed to customer and perform them
• Provide written completion of work orders with parts used, descriptions of work performed and recommended return work needed.
• Ensuring all customers are completely satisfied through effective communication

Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with irrigation and landscape lighting system components, design principles, and repair of common field issues.
• Proficiency in English required. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
