IT Administrative Assistant
Location: San Diego, CA, Mission Bay Park / Old Town / Linda Vista area
Worksite: 100% onsite, parking available
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM; Friday, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
Hours: 34 hours per week, excluding unpaid 30-minute meal breaks
Assignment Type: Temporary project assignment
Duration: 2-3 months, with possible extension or early completion depending on project needs
Conversion: This is a one-time project assignment, not temp-to-hire
About the Role
LHH is seeking a temporary IT Administrative Assistant to support the Information Technology department for a mission-driven nonprofit organization in San Diego.
This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative skills, excellent organization, strong Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 knowledge, and an interest or background in technology. The IT Administrative Assistant will help the IT team with administrative processes, documentation, vendor coordination, inventory, licensing, training support, and other IT-related operational tasks.
The right candidate will be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, approachable, teachable, and comfortable working with multiple internal departments on IT-related needs.
Responsibilities
Create IT-related documentation, technical writing materials, compliance documentation, policies, procedures, and training content.
Assist with video creation for software tutorials and internal training materials.
Manage, schedule, and coordinate with IT-related vendors, including telecom, internet, network cabling, phone system, and software vendors.
Support IT inventory management.
Process IT-related invoices and purchase orders submitted by the department.
Help train staff on software and technologies including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, and Office 365.
Work with Accounting, Administration, HR, QI, and other internal departments on IT-related questions, issues, and requests.
Track software licensing information for IT products and software services.
Assist with staff phone purchases and enrolling phones in mobile device management.
Help gather staff feedback through IT-related surveys and follow-up.
Provide administrative support to the IT team, including monitoring IT tickets, monitoring security incidents, and assisting with other IT department needs and requests.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1 year of office experience in a computer/software-centered role.
Strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Teams, Office 365, and related tools.
Understanding of technical computer language and terminology.
Interest in IT/software and desire to learn new technologies.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also contributing well in a team environment.
Approachable, professional, teachable, and comfortable working with internal staff.
Experience with technical writing, software training, or documentation is helpful.
Experience with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports is preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to work 100% onsite in the Mission Bay Park / Old Town / Linda Vista area.
Must have reliable transportation and own vehicle.
Minimal client interaction expected.
Must be able to complete required pre-assignment clearances, including a client-required questionnaire and Live Scan.
Pay Details: $27.00 to $31.00 per hour
