A support role responsible for coordinating information security for the University of Florida (UF) Health Science Center colleges, departments, units, and clinics that are integrated into UF Health Information Technology (IT) as well as UF Health clinical operations and hospitals as needed. Interface with the Information Security and Privacy offices to assist units in ensuring applications and systems comply with UF and UF Health policies and procedures related to information security and privacy. Interact with operational systems and protecting assets housing restricted and confidential information at UF Health. Assist in information security governance, risk, and compliance practices as required by UF and UF Health. Work on the UF Information Security Integrated Risk Management process. Participate in all manner of IT activities regarding application and system selection, evaluation, installation, upgrade, and planning.

Classification Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Job Description:

IT Governance – Participate in, and support efforts to create, modify, and maintain enterprise governance documentation, including: policies, standards, baselines, best practices, and guidelines.


IT Risk Analysis – Support the UF and UF Health risk management practices and programs by conducting risk analysis and reporting results to stakeholders using problem solving, analytical thinking, information capture, workflow analysis and business acumen.


IT Compliance – Support the UF and UF Health IT compliance efforts, working with enterprise tools and units to ensure UF complies with internal and external governing bodies.


User Education and Awareness – Support the education and training of UF and UF Health staff regarding IT and Security user education programs

Disaster Avoidance – Participate in developing IT disaster avoidance and incident response programs to protect the university’s assets.

Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.  Engage in research and self-study for professional development.  Communicate and interact with peers and staff

Expected Salary:

$75,000 annual

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred:

A Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional information technology experience.

Work experience in an information security or information technology role may replace education requirements on a year-for-year basis.  Information security experience is strongly preferred.
