IT Application Analyst II - Term Limited

Overview:

Term-Limited Position: This position is funded as a term-limited assignment with a minimum duration of 12 months. Based on organizational needs and continued funding, the assignment may be extended for up to an additional 12 months. Appointment to this position does not guarantee continued employment beyond the term-limited assignment. If a regularly funded position becomes available during or following the assignment, the incumbent may be appointed to the position, subject to organizational policies, applicable employment requirements, and business needs. There is no guarantee of continued employment or appointment to a regular position.

 

As an IT Application Analyst II, you’ll support the enterprise applications that keep Community Transit running – from financial and human capital management systems to applications supporting vehicle maintenance, inventory, scheduling, and customer communications. You’ll troubleshoot issues, monitor application performance, coordinate upgrades and enhancements, and partner with internal teams and vendors to keep critical systems reliable and effective.

 

A key initial focus will be supporting our PeopleSoft ERP and HCM applications, while building your knowledge across a broader portfolio of enterprise systems. You’ll work closely with business partners and IT teams across infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and integration, service delivery, and project management to solve problems, improve application support, and contribute to upgrades and modernization efforts.

 

We’re looking for someone with strong application support and troubleshooting skills who enjoys digging into complex problems and working across teams to find solutions. PeopleSoft and data management experience are especially valuable, along with the ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and balance day-to-day production support with enhancements and project work.

Essential Duties:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for complex issues, including problem identification, investigation, and resolution for all customer-facing technologies.   
• Inform the design, build, implementation, and maintenance of complex infrastructures. Perform complex system audits and ensure systems are functioning as expected. Inform and participate in the preparation and maintenance of architecture and design configuration and ensure documentation is updated accordingly, as directed.
• Manage and oversee data being transferred to-and-from business systems. Analyze and troubleshoot anomalies or detected technology related events and ensure appropriate action is taken. 
• Monitor information technology, including systems, applications, and infrastructure for performance and reliability in relation to established service level agreements. Develop and monitor service levels and delivery results and identify and implement changes necessary to meet business needs.
• Create complex reports, presentations, and documentation. Develop meeting agendas and lead meeting discussions. Capture and track actionable items to completion.
• Maintain communications between internal and external customers and vendors in support of technology systems.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

• 6 years of experience working in Information Technology troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware, software, or network problems (a Bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for 4 years of experience)
• 2 years of experience providing full system support for complex customer-facing technology
• 6 years of experience administering applications, systems or networks
• 6 years of experience in an IT support role interfacing daily with end users
• 6 years of experience with supporting, repairing and/or troubleshooting devices, applications, or systems in specific area of job posting
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support critical systems and transit applications as required
• Must have a valid Washington State driver's license by hire date to operate a CT company vehicle, as needed

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

Working Conditions

 

Hybrid telework may be available.  Work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology.  You will be required to move throughout and between different office buildings and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments. You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 10 pounds occasionally.
