Senior Application & Business Systems Analyst

Location: 100% Remote – Dallas, TX preferred
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Potential Full-Time Conversion After 90 Days)
Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Application & Business Systems Analyst to serve as an application and business process expert supporting business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors. This role will analyze business and technical requirements, troubleshoot application issues, support software integrations, develop and execute testing strategies, and lead projects and enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of systems support and analysis experience, strong financial systems knowledge, advanced SQL and Excel skills, ERP experience, and a solid understanding of finance business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for business applications, financial systems, and business processes.

• Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors.

• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical requirements, epics, features, and user stories.

• Define project scope, schedules, budgets, goals, and deliverables with key stakeholders.

• Lead planning and implementation of application projects, enhancements, and system improvements.

• Develop and execute test plans, test scripts, regression testing, and user acceptance testing within a Scrum/Agile environment.

• Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot production issues.

• Analyze data using SQL and other tools to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.

• Support software integration activities and data flow between applications.

• Perform basic system fixes, data maintenance, and application support activities.

• Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the Scrum development lifecycle.

• Provide demonstrations of application enhancements and development releases.

• Develop user training materials and technical documentation.

• Support change management and release control procedures.

• Provide production support, including participation in 24/7 support activities as required.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in systems support, business systems analysis, or application support.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent specialized work experience.

• Intermediate-level Microsoft SQL skills with the ability to write queries independently.

• Strong financial software and financial business process experience.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

  • VLOOKUP

  • Pivot Tables

  • Flat/delimited file integration

  • Data analysis and manipulation

• Experience with software applications support and software integration.

• Experience developing and executing test plans in a Scrum/Agile environment.

• Strong understanding of data structures and data flows.

• Strong project management experience, including planning and implementing projects and enhancements.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.

• 5+ years of ERP experience; Eclipse ERP experience preferred.

• Strong understanding of finance business processes, including:

  • General Ledger

  • Fixed Assets

  • Procurement and Sourcing

  • Accounts Payable

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Revenue Accounting

  • Tax

  • Treasury

Preferred Qualifications

• API experience.

• Experience with financial applications such as Billtrust, GetPaid, TM1, Oracle, and Kofax.

• Oracle experience.

• Linux experience.

• File Transfer Protocol (FTP) experience.

• Experience with Eclipse ERP.

• Experience supporting complex enterprise software environments.

Work Requirements

• 100% remote position.

• Candidates located in the Dallas, TX area are preferred but not required.

• Must be available during 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time business hours.

• Must be willing to provide 24/7 production support when required.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

• No visa sponsorship is available.

• Position is expected to be contract-to-hire, with potential conversion to full-time after 90 days.

Compensation

$43.27 per hour

The ideal candidate is a senior-level application/business systems professional who combines strong technical skills with deep financial business process knowledge. They should be comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, IT teams, developers, and vendors while managing requirements, testing, integrations, production support, and project delivery in a complex enterprise environment.
