The IT Applications Engineer VI, Web supports the Digital Experience Engineering organization by serving as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise digital solutions that support customer-facing and business-critical applications. Working across a complex technology landscape, this role partners closely with product, engineering, architecture, user experience, platform, and operational teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable web-based solutions that advance organizational objectives.
This position provides technical leadership for the development of modern application and integration solutions, helping drive architecture decisions, engineering best practices, and technology modernization efforts across enterprise platforms. The role contributes to the delivery of cloud-based applications, APIs, microservices, content management solutions, and digital experiences while supporting performance, accessibility, security, and operational excellence initiatives.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate business needs, implement innovative technology solutions, mentor engineering teams, and support enterprise standards that promote application reliability, scalability, and long-term business value. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with experience delivering enterprise web applications and guiding large-scale digital transformation initiatives in complex organizational environments preferably with Node.js, AEM, React, and Angular skills
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this senior technical leader position is also responsible for leading the development of internet applications and software tools. This includes partnering with product teams to understand and define the product vision, and overseeing the development and support of end-to-end solutions including architecting, designing, developing, and testing member-facing applications/systems using cloud, content management systems (CMS) and traditional integrations. This position is also responsible for leading the development of cloud applications, CMS, and integration solutions on a variety of platforms; serving as a lead expert in the research and resolution of technical issues; recommending appropriate interventions/modifications on critical and/or escalated issues; and ensuring work processes and products meet KP IT security and development standards.
