IT Engineering Applications Support Technician (Contract)

Position Summary

We are seeking an IT Engineering Applications Support Technician to provide technical support for engineering applications and internal users. This individual will play a key role in supporting engineering teams while also assisting employees across the organization. This is a full-time, onsite contract position requiring close collaboration with end users to ensure they have the tools, systems, and support needed to be successful.

Responsibilities

• Respond to, troubleshoot, and escalate engineering application support requests through an IT service management platform.
• Apply system patches and perform proactive maintenance to minimize downtime and resolve hardware and software issues.
• Troubleshoot technical problems related to engineering applications, operating systems, and end-user hardware.
• Escalate complex issues to third-party vendors when necessary and communicate updates and resolutions to end users.
• Continuously learn new technologies, applications, and support processes to improve service delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely issue resolution and a positive user experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical support, help desk, or IT service desk environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes consistently.
• Eagerness to learn new applications, technologies, and support tools.
• Experience supporting Windows environments is required; macOS support experience is a plus.
• Experience with an IT service management platform (such as Jira Service Management) is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
