Job Description and Requirements
The IT Asset Manager is responsible for the strategic governance, lifecycle management, and optimization of RBFCU’s IT assets across the enterprise. This role ensures accurate asset visibility, cost-effective utilization, and compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, while leading IT Asset Management (ITAM) to support business continuity, audit readiness, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities will include assisting teams with updating and maintaining the data integrity of the IVANTI Configuration Management Database (CMDB). In addition, the Asset Manager will partner closely with Desktop Support, the IT Service Desk, and Purchasing to plan and coordinate hardware and software needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team, overseeing a portfolio of 20,000+ IT assets
Establish and maintain ITAM governance frameworks, policies, and standards
Ensure equipment availability to support business needs
Manage team efforts to maintain hardware/software inventory accuracy by following asset management principles and concepts, while enforcing industry standards compliance and adhering to the Life Cycle Management processes for hardware and software licenses
Collaborate closely with IT teams involved in ordering, maintaining, or servicing IT assets
Prepare and provide detailed reports for NCUA audits and management, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all IT asset records and software licensing
Support disaster recovery efforts of planning and execution, ensuring quick restoration of critical IT services during disruptions. Contribute to regular testing and updates of disaster recovery procedures
Manage the life cycle of IT assets from acquisition to disposal, including tracking warranties, planning for upgrades, and scheduling replacements to ensure minimal disruption to organization
Handle the disposal of decommissioned equipment, ensuring compliance with environmental and company regulations, and optimizing the disposal process to minimize waste and cost. Act as RBFCU liaison for disposal vendor scheduling and communications
Establish KPIs and drive continuous improvement
Manage the bulk loading of equipment into different statuses within the discovery tool, ensuring accurate and timely updates to reflect asset life cycle
Oversee team accountability for analyzing budgets, proposals, and vendor contracts compliance of software assets

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree. In lieu of bachelor’s degree, four years of related experience will equal to bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years’ IT Asset Management experience
Minimum of 3 years management experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with asset management/tracking tools
Strong knowledge of asset management principles and concepts applicable to hardware, software, and inventory management
Working knowledge of software asset management policies, practices, technology, and licensing in the Windows Desktop platforms
Willing to participate in moderate to highly complex projects within or outside of the department
Strong research and data analysis skills with the ability to communicate results with colleagues and management
Strong verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision
Strong organizational and time management skills necessary as well as ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills
Acquired or studying for CITAM (Certified IT Asset Manager) Certification or equivalent work experience.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Working knowledge of a Service Management tool (e.g., IVANTI/HEAT, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow)
Strong conceptual technical background in Information Technology with a focus on infrastructure
Ability to work effectively with IT, Procurement professionals, and Management
