Job Title: IT Asset Support Technician
Location: McLean, VA
Duration: 5 months with possible extension
Pay Range: $25-30/hr on W2 without benefits
Introduction:
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in IT Asset Management, Desktop Support, Inventory Management, or End-User Device Deployment who enjoy hands-on work supporting enterprise hardware operations. The position involves preparing, imaging, shipping, and tracking laptops for new and existing associates.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows laptop imaging and configuration
- Experience with Mac laptop setup and updates
- Basic hardware troubleshooting
- IT Asset Management

- Laptop deployment and reimaging
- Shipping and receiving operations
- Asset tracking and documentation
- Physically capable of lifting and moving equipment (up to 25–50 lbs.)
- Experience performing inventory audits
- Ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Knowledge of asset lifecycle management
- Experience supporting employee onboarding through IT equipment provisionin
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Package and ship laptops to new and existing associates across the United States
- Prepare, configure, and re-image Windows and Mac laptops for deployment
- Perform laptop setup, updates, and basic troubleshooting before shipment
- Receive and process returned laptops for reissue
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular inventory audits
- Track IT assets and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Hand-deliver laptops to onsite associates when required
- Ensure all equipment is properly documented before shipment or reassignment
- Support large-scale employees onboarding by preparing IT equipment
- Maintain an organized asset storage area and shipping workspace
- Work independently while meeting daily shipping and inventory goals
- Follow asset management and security procedures for handling company equipment
- Assist with physical movement of equipment and inventory as needed (up to 25–50 lbs.)
