IT Asset & Telecom Room Technician (Previous shipping, receiving, or clerical experience)

Ann Arbor, MI 48109 ($18/hr max)

6+ months with chances of extension

Overview:
Client is seeking an entry-level IT Asset Technician to support the decommissioning and inspection of telecommunications rooms. This role is hands-on, self-directed, and focuses on documenting and coordinating IT equipment for proper disposition. Training and all tools will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect telecommunications rooms and identify uninstalled, depreciated, or unapproved IT equipment.
• Take photos and gather data on items that do not belong; report via email.
• Erase configurations and operating system code on IT equipment using provided scripts.
• Complete company property disposition forms for IT assets.
• Coordinate pickups and transport of IT assets with the company's Moving & Trucking.
• Maintain organization and documentation for all IT assets encountered.
• Travel to multiple sites within 30 minutes of Ann Arbor; parking passes available as needed.
• Utilize a contractor badge, laptop, and desk when on-site.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Comfortable using Windows computers and following instructions/scripts.
• Self-directed and reliable; able to work independently.
• Detail-oriented and able to take photos, document, and communicate findings.
• Previous shipping, receiving, or clerical experience is a strong fit.
• Physically able to inspect equipment and rooms; not custodial work but requires observation.
