General Schedule:
Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm in-office at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Position Overview and Job Duties:
Under general direction of the Director of the Project Management Office, the Business Analyst I serves a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs enterprise-level technology service delivery. Helps with solutions to problems that may arise in an expeditious, efficient, and timely manner. Effectively collaborates across technology teams and business units through excellent communication skills, diplomacy, and a positive attitude. Works on a variety of projects and will play a key part in making sure that end results are designed according to the relevant patterns and analyses. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the University of Central Oklahoma.
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Supports and delivers on assigned PMO projects with requirements developed through the collaborative effort of cross-functional teams and clients. Possesses expertise in the business units(s) they support, as well as an understanding of the IT Organization's systems and capabilities. Qualifications / Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field or equivalent work experience.
1 to 3 years of relevant technical or business work experience.
Qualifications / Experience Preferred:
Related certifications (i.e. Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) through IIBA)
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to work with business partners within one business function to align technology solutions with business strategies. Can demonstrate an informed knowledge of a business area to resolve problems on an ongoing business. Must Support several moderately complex business processes. Able to work on multiple projects as a project team member, occasionally as a project leader. May coach more junior staff.
Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills, along with strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skill. Ability to work independently, or with specialized groups, while maintaining a courteous attitude when dealing with students, faculty, and staff. Ability and willingness to complete several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, multitasking environment. Ability to set objectives, mange project timelines, and see projects to completion. The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Solid presentation skills. Ability to explain technical terms in everyday language. Ability to work directly with senior level executives. Must have the ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, be attentive to detail, and understand implications for the academic context. This position may be assigned 24x7x365 on-call rotation responsibilities and requires the successful candidate to have high-speed internet access to their residence and maintain a smart phone on which to receive telephone calls, email, SMS messages from servers and authorized OIT personnel.
