The Pharmacy Core Retail Systems team is seeking a results-driven servant leader to manage a team of talented analysts, software engineers, and quality assurance professionals who support the mission-critical technology used by Publix retail pharmacies. In this role, you will lead the development, enhancement, implementation, and 24/7 tier 3 support of pharmacy management systems, pharmacy IVR systems, retail pharmacy workstation peripherals, and related integrations that enable efficient, accurate, and compliant pharmacy operations. You will partner closely with Pharmacy business areas, Technology teams, Architecture, Telecommunications, external vendors, and store support teams to deliver reliable solutions that improve pharmacy workflows, reduce operational friction, support regulatory requirements, and advance strategic modernization efforts.

Location: Flexible Hybrid (Lakeland, FL). To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact

  • Lead the development, delivery, enhancement, and 24/7 tier 3 system support of the Pharmacy Core Retail Systems technology portfolio.
  • Manage, upgrade, and support the pharmacy management system, including retail pharmacy workflows, third-party interfaces, and regulatory and compliance-driven changes.
  • Oversee pharmacy IVR systems, centralized IVR configuration, and reporting.
  • Coordinate support for retail pharmacy peripherals, patch testing, store openings and closings, pharmacy lab management, and retail package deployment processes.
  • Lead initiatives involving key pharmacy integrations and interfaces, including electronic prescription processing, regulated product sales tracking, retail alerting, and point-of-sale integration.
  • Partner with external software and healthcare technology vendors to manage product roadmaps, defects, enhancements, support escalations, and vendor-provided technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with business partners, product owners, architecture, security, compliance, and delivery teams to produce and prioritize the product backlog and ensure solutions align with business objectives and Technology standards.
  • Plan and manage team projects, including scope, estimates, resource allocation, milestones, budget, risks, dependencies, and executive-level status communication.
  • Provide oversight of application support processes to ensure timely incident resolution, appropriate escalation, clear communication, and effective monitoring of production environments.
  • Perform human resource management duties, including hiring, training, performance evaluations and improvement plans, career counseling, pay reviews, promotions, terminations, and work prioritization for assigned associates.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment that promotes associate engagement, development, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to departmental processes, key performance indicators, measurement reporting, and continuous improvement practices that improve delivery quality and operational reliability.
