IT Engineer Key Details Job Title: IT Engineer Location: Spring, TX 77389 Work Arrangement: Hybrid (four days onsite, one day remote; minimum three days onsite required) Employment Type: Contract Contract Duration: One year or longer Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, regular business hours Compensation: $61–$68 per hour Position Status: Replacement role Role Overview The IT Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-level data center and network infrastructure. This role requires deep technical expertise in modern networking architectures, DDI services, and large-scale data center environments. The position supports business-critical systems and collaborates with global teams to ensure network reliability, scalability, and performance. Responsibilities Design, configure, and support enterprise DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP (DDI) services. Develop architecture and design specifications for Infoblox DDI core infrastructure components. Support and maintain data center network environments using Leaf-Spine architecture. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Juniper and Arista network hardware. Provide hands-on support for Juniper QFX 5120 and 5130 series switches. Implement and support EVPN-VXLAN architectures, including EVPN Type 2 and Type 5 route coexistence. Configure and maintain BGP routing protocols. Support underlay and overlay network architectures and related overlay services. Perform core switch upgrades and migrations with minimal operational impact. Troubleshoot complex network issues related to hardware, software, configuration, and design. Configure and troubleshoot port channels, IP Fabric, and BFD. Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and follow established operational processes. Participate in 24/7 rotational support, with flexibility to adjust work hours to support global teams in APJ and EMEA regions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience. Five or more years of progressive experience in network design, deployment, and implementation within enterprise IT environments. Strong hands-on experience in: Data center networking Juniper and Arista switching platforms Leaf-Spine network design EVPN-VXLAN BGP routing Advanced network troubleshooting Experience supporting network upgrades, migrations, and high-availability environments. Ability to work onsite in Spring, TX with a reasonable local commute. Willingness to participate in rotational and flexible work schedules to support global operations. Preferred Qualifications Juniper certifications, such as JNCIA-DC or JNCIP. Experience with Infoblox DDI platforms in large enterprise environments. IPv6 implementation and troubleshooting experience. Strong documentation, process adherence, and operational discipline. Experience working in globally distributed or follow-the-sun support models.
