Your Opportunity

The Production Support Engineer is responsible for providing critical regulatory filing support and ensuring operational continuity. This role requires daily business engagement, oversight of reporting activities, and expertise in cloud migration and production support. The position is integral to maintaining compliance, supporting business growth, and mitigating operational risk, aligning with Schwab's best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily oversight and support for regulatory filing processes for the business, ensuring prompt and accurate issue resolution.

  • Engage closely with business stakeholders to foster strong relationships and maintain in-depth functional knowledge.

  • Support reporting activities and accelerated production releases for new product launches, including post-release validations and collaboration with delivery teams.

  • Lead and participate in cloud migration projects, maintaining separation of duty (SOD) and ensuring audit compliance.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for production support, including batch job management and troubleshooting.

  • Maintain and update documentation, map job dependencies, and integrate technical references for centralized knowledge sharing.

  • Ensure compliance with change management and ticketing systems, including CI/CD pipeline deployments.

  • Implement and enforce security policies to reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Conduct regular security checks, perform system performance tuning, and support production across multiple Data Centers.

  • Support ongoing data governance, ETL processes, and audit readiness as part of organizational compliance efforts.

What you have

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Linux/Unix administration, including server installation, configuration, and security management.

  • Proven expertise in automation, scripting (Bash, Python), and batch job support for 24/7 operations.

  • Experience with cloud technologies, including GCP, MODQ, Step Functions, and CloudWatch.

  • 6 months + of Schwab technology domain experience gained as a current or recent contractor or employee

  • Strong background in data center migrations and policy implementation.

  • Database management skills.

  • Familiarity with ticketing and governance systems (Remedy, Jira), change management, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ability to centralize and maintain internal documentation, onboarding guides, and process maps.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with regulatory reporting and compliance, including audit support and documentation.

  • Knowledge of network protocols, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for Linux/Unix environments.

  • Hands-on experience with data governance tools, ETL processes, and workload automation solutions.

  • Ability to collaborate across teams to drive system connectivity, reduce downtime, and enhance system reliability.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
