    Position Summary

    Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a Tier 2 Field Service Engineer Journeyman to provide on-site IT support in a federal environment. This role supports end users with hands-on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and network connectivity. This is a customer-facing position requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an office setting.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
    • Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers and related software
    • Support basic network connectivity and hardware issues
    • Connect devices to existing data networks
    • Maintain trouble logs and documentation in ticketing systems
    • Provide in-person and remote support to end users
    • Perform minor hardware and software repairs
    • Assist users with proper use of hardware and software
    • Document daily support activities and resolutions
    • Collaborate with staff and management regarding system needs and improvements

     

    Requirements

    • 1 to 2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a desktop or field service environment
    • Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments
    • Experience supporting hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
    • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users
    • Ability to work independently in an on-site setting
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Associate degree or higher preferred


    Required Certifications

    • Help Desk Institute (HDI) Certification or Service Desk Institute (SDI) Certification
    • CompTIA A+
    • ITIL v3 Foundation

     

    Plus one of the following:

    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Network+
    • CompTIA Server+
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows 10 and/or Office 365
    • AppleCare Mac Technician

     

    Security Requirements

    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation, obtaining and maintaining Public Trust suitability.


    Estimated Salary Range: $40,000-$45,000
