The field service technician will provide basic technical support for the telecommunications systems through the assembly, installation, and testing of the telecommunications systems, including their equipment and peripherals.
The Field Service Technician must be able to work with customers, project managers, and senior engineers to build and prepare systems for field deployments. The Field Service Technician must have a general knowledge of the implementation of on-premises telecommunications systems across multiple manufacturers.
- Prepares for installations and upgrades by reviewing work orders; obtains necessary equipment, supplies, and tools; and evaluates installation location.
- Perform on-premises wireless surveys using industry-standard tools.
- Assists with software and firmware updates to system processors, system circuit packs, IP stations, and associated equipment.
- Able to use network tracing (wire shark) and other troubleshooting tools to diagnose/troubleshoot end-point devices and peripheral issues.
- Ensures end-point systems are functioning and with optimal performance by testing equipment and connections and identifying and correcting any issues.
