Technical Summary:
This senior-level IT Infrastructure Engineer V operates within the Enterprise Architecture organization, delivering a mix of hands-on engineering, architecture leadership, and strategic influence focused on data center networking. The role is responsible for designing, validating, and evolving enterprise network capabilities that ensure high availability, resiliency, and operational consistency across on-premises and hybrid environments. The position combines deep network engineering expertise with architectural design and product ownership to define and implement standardized reference architectures, detailed network design documentation, and migration strategies aligned to business and technical requirements. The engineer plays a key role in both designing solutions and guiding their implementation, ensuring that network architectures are practical, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards. Acting as a technical leader and architecture authority, the role evaluates whether solutions conform to existing standards or require the development of new patterns and frameworks. Through hands-on analysis of current-state infrastructure, the engineer identifies performance constraints, design gaps, and operational risks, delivering repeatable solutions that improve reliability, maximize uptime, and strengthen fault tolerance for mission-critical services. The role also supports business and strategic planning by providing ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) pricing, contributing to business case development, and advising on trade-offs between cost, performance, and risk. It ensures alignment with regulatory requirements and internal governance policies, while maintaining oversight of vendor lifecycle and code certification compliance to keep network platforms secure, supported, and audit-ready. In leading data center transformation efforts, the IT Infrastructure Engineer V defines target-state architectures and drives migration strategies across initiatives such as consolidation, modernization, and hybrid cloud integration. The role works cross-functionally with engineering teams, operations, and stakeholders to translate architectural direction into actionable designs, validated implementations, and operational standards. By combining engineering execution, architectural rigor, and leadership influence, this role enables consistent decision-making, reduces operational risk, and delivers resilient, scalable network infrastructure that supports long-term enterprise growth.
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, this position is responsible for managing resources to deliver network solutions to meet our customer requirements. Some of the unique challenges this position will face include managing and planning for a large scale network.
