Job Title: IT Intern-2

Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt

Pay Group: Hourly

Primary Purpose: Under close supervision, performs moderately complex computer systems support work to include installing, configuring and supporting the Windham School District (WSD) local area network (LAN) and network computer systems. Assists in maintaining network hardware and software.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Experience:

Be enrolled in an accredited college or university with a declared major of computer science, management information systems or a related field.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work with computers, operating systems, networks and install application software.

Skills in effective communication.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist with performing computer system support and network maintenance functions.

  2. Assist with installation, configuration and troubleshooting computer hardware and software.

  3. Assist with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of LAN components such as router, hubs, switches, and servers.

  4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Policy Reports, and Law:

  1. Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.

  2. Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at location of work assignment.

  3. Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.

  4. Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard. Practices for Texas Educators.
